Spectrum Settlement Recovery, the leader in fund recovery from class actions, announced today that it has begun accepting client claims for the recently announced Microsoft anti-trust settlement for the state of New York.
“The New York settlement, at $350 million, is one of the biggest Microsoft settlements that has come down, and it may be the last,” said Howard Yellen, President and CEO of Spectrum. “The settlement is a great opportunity for business to file claims and gain thousands of dollars that can be used towards IT and other capital resources.”
Microsoft and New York agreed on this settlement for overcharging New York consumers and businesses for software purchased between 1994 and 2004. Any business that purchased Microsoft software for use in New York state between 1994 and 2004 is eligible to file a claim.
By using Spectrum’s claim filing services, businesses can ensure that they receive the maximum possible amount for their claims. Spectrum has filed claims for hundreds of businesses under state settlements with Microsoft in California, Minnesota, Arizona, New Mexico, North Carolina, North and South Dakota, Kansas, Florida, Tennessee, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia, totaling over $30 million in claim revenue.
Spectrum also provided services in the recent Visa/MasterCard settlement, filing claims for businesses in excess of $75 million.
